Weekend Reads: Documentaries, F-Bombs & Pasta Sauce

Why are the short weeks always the longest? Because of course they are. I'm looking forward to sharing king cake with my friend, some sweaty workouts and hopefully some time with my mom on the phone. Other than that, a whole weekend of reading and relaxing sounds perfect right now!

Infamous (and anonymous) site 4Chan is run by Christopher "Moot" Poole, but he's stepping away from the site. The history of 4Chan is fascinating and Moot's reason for leaving, even more so.

Stuck between two cultures, bi-racial comedian Al Madrigal explores what it means to be half-Mexican and half-White in a hilarious documentary and journey to connect with his culture...whatever the fuck that means.

Dove is known for their groundbreaking ads featuring real women of all shapes, sizes and colors. Now they're diving into curls. In a three minute spot that will tug at your heart strings Dove encourages women to embrace their natural hair.

Every kid I know has the book Knuffle Bunny. These hilarious observations will forever change how I read the book to my favorite 2 year olds.

Reminder: the best pasta sauce recipe only requires three ingredients.

Oscar fever is in full pitch - but don't forget to watch all the nominated documentaries. Most of them are arguably better than the movies.

Speaking of documentaries, Fucking Perfect, a doc about Chef Sergio Herman looks intense, fascinating and full of food porn.

"To Fall In Love With Anyone, Do This" basically went viral last week, but the New Yorker's acerbic response "To Fall Out Of Love, Do This" had me cackling out loud.

This 109-year-old woman has the best man advice ever.

I'm looking forward to reading this Q&A with Linda Wertheimer, journalist and senior national correspondent for NPR.

The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A Fuck

I always say I want to play more board games but I never really get around to it. Kotaku published an, um, extensive, flowchart to help you figure out what game to play depending on mood, crowd and interests.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend, dears. I'm reading Tiny Beautiful Things, a compilation of advice and letters from Dear Sugar. It pretty much has me in tears at every turn of the page, but the nuggets of wisdom are priceless. Make sure you check it out!
